In our previous announcement, it had been communicated that our Parents Back To School Open House for Quran Classes would take place on Sunday October 6th.
This has been POSTPONED.
The new date for the Parents Back To School Open House For Quran Classes will be announced for a later date in the month of October soon.

Back To School Open House For Parents will be held on Sunday September 29th from 12:50pm to 1:10pm.
Open House Session #1: Tarbiya Class

Parents will head straight to their child's Tarbiya Classrooms. If you aren't sure where your child's classrooms are located, please feel free to ask at the front desk of the school.
This will be an opportunity for parents to sit in their child's classroom and meet with your child's teachers (and fellow parents).
The teachers will introduce themselves, go over the curriculum, their rules, regulations, expectations, and give you a taste of what your child will be learning this year!
Each session will not be more than 15 to 20 minutes long, so all parents are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to meet your child's teachers.
Children will be eating lunch during this time, so the parents will be able to report directly to the classrooms and meet with the teachers.
Note 1: If you have more than one child enrolled at Jafaria School: Parents, plan to bide your time between the classes, or one parent can attend one class and one parent can attend the other.
Note 2: If your teacher is unable to host the Back To School event on Sunday September 29th, they will have sent you an email letting you know, and will communicate an alternate date that they will be hosting it in their class.
Quran pre-screening assessments have been completed for the vast majority of our students, who were in attendance during the first two weeks of school.
The school administration, in collaboration with our Quran teaching staff, will be reviewing the results, and placing the students in their permanent Quran section classes.
You will be receiving an email from registration@jafariaschool.com with the new reporting details for your child's 2nd period Quran class soon.
Have you visited the Jafaria School Library lately? The library is open every Sunday from 10:30AM to 2PM when Jafaria School is in session.
We have a dedicated staff of librarians on duty every Sunday during school hours.
Parents and children are welcome to come and browse our extensive library of hundreds of books.
If you would like to borrow books to take home, a Jafaria School library card is required.
The library is open 365 days a year to the Masjid-e-Ali community. However, books may only be checked out on Sundays when a librarian is on duty.
No books may be removed from the library without being checked out by a librarian on duty.
Books that are not returned by the due date are subject to overdue fines. Please return your library books on time!
The groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the brand new school building that will be occupied by Jafaria School, will be held on Sunday September 22nd, 2019 at 2pm ET.
Construction of the long-awaited new school building will finally begin!
All Jafaria School parents and students are invited to participate in and witness this historic event.
Students will also have the opportunity to personally take part in breaking ground to kick off the construction effort!
Members of the Masjid-e-Ali board, scholars, as well as public officials from Franklin Township will be present to address the ceremony.
Parents should plan to pick up their children from school at 2pm sharp and then head toward outside toward the back of the building, where everyone will assemble for the ceremony.
Refreshments will be served.
During the first two weeks of the school year, all students undergo a pre-assessment screening, for their level of Arabic knowledge.
The pre-assessment screenings are expected to be completed by the end of Week #2 (Sunday September 22nd, 2019.)
Our school administration team will review the results of the pre-assessment screening. Based on the results of the screening, all students will be grouped together into different sections for the Quran class period.
This will ensure that students in similar age groups and similar levels of Arabic reading proficiency will be grouped together in the same classes.
This will enhance the learning experience, by catering to the needs of each student more effectively.
All parents will receive an email prior to Week #3 (Sunday September 30th) notifying you which class your student will be reporting to, for the Quran class period, going forward.
The first day of the 2019 - 2020 academic school year will be Sunday September 15th, 2019.
Parents may escort their children to their respective classrooms.
Jafaria School staff members will be available throughout the building to guide your children to their respective classrooms.
It is recommended that you bring a print-out of your child's registration confirmation email, just in case.
The first day of school, we will be operating on a modified schedule:
Parent Drop-Off: 10:20am
First period : 10:30am to 11:30am
2nd period: 11:30am- 12:30pm
Lunch 12:35pm-01:00pm
Salat : 01:00pm - 01:25pm
DISMISSAL WILL BE AT 1:25PM on Sunday September 15th, 2019.
School will be dismissed at 1:25pm on Sunday September 15th, 2019, the first day of school.
This is to accommodate the majlis program that will be starting immediately after the Dhuhrain prayers.
All parents are encouraged to stay for the majlis.

Jafaria School will NOT be responsible for children once the majlis program has begun. All parents are REQUIRED to pick up their children (or join them for the majlis) at the conclusion of Dhuhrain prayers.
The school library is currently CLOSED.
Our librarians are busy getting the library ready for serving the Jafaria School community.
It is anticipated that the library will be open for business during week #3, on Sunday September 29th, 2019.
The last day of school will be Sunday May 5th, 2019.
We will observe the following schedule on the last day of school:

12:00PM - 01:00PM - 2nd Period - Quran Fair
01:00PM - 01:20PM - Lunch (Parents & Students)

Lunch is being provided for parents and children.
The annual Jafaria School Quran Fair will be held on Sunday May 5th, 2019 immediately after salaat... at 12:00pm ET sharp.
Each Quran class will be collaborating on projects that demonstrate their knowledge and appreciation of certain aspects of the Holy Quran.
All storybooks, workbooks (Grades PreK through 2nd grade) and textbooks (grades 3 through 10), and Quran textbooks that are in your possession must be returned to your teacher by Sunday May 5th.
Textbooks are reused and reissued yearly.
By returning your textbooks, you will be doing your part to help keep the cost of textbooks down and avert families from incurring any lost-textbook replacement fees the following school year.
Final grades will be posted and available to view in EngradePro on Sunday May 5th, 2019.

Important Notice: EngradePro is being permanently discontinued and shut down as of June 30th, 2019.
McGraw Hill, the company that owns Engrade, has decided to discontinue the product.
As a result, Jafaria School will be switching to a new online gradebook over the summer.
Details concerning the new online gradebook system will be announced toward the end of the summer.
Due to an anticipated increase in student enrollment, we advise all parents to re-enroll their students for he 2019 - 2020 school year as soon as possible.
Registration is on a first-come-first-serve basis.

This is designed to make the process of registering your child for the upcoming school year quick and hassle-free!
Please do not delay in completing the registration process as soon as possible, as we are also opening up registration for new students as well.

The Healthy Living Committee of Masjid-e-Ali is hosting a CPR training session for the community.
Cardiac arrest can happen to anyone, at any time. Starting CPR immediately can help save someone’s life. Learn the skills needed to make a difference. Absolutely for free.
The training class will be held on Saturday May 4th from 6:30PM - 7:45PM, concluding with Maghribain prayers.

Jafaria School has identified an orphanage in Brazil that is collecting stuffed toys for their needy children.
A donation box will be set up in the main foyer on Sunday April 21st and Sunday April 28th.

Sunday April 21st coincides with the 15th of Shabaan 1440AH.
The school year calendar has been updated.
Please note the following changes:
1. We will be open on Sunday April 21st.
2. The last day of class will be Sunday May 5th, which is the last Sunday before Ramadan.
3. The Quran Fair will be held on Sunday May 5th. Details to follow.
4. School will NOT be in session during Ramadan.
5. Graduation celebrations will be held individually in each class Sunday May 5th.
6. There will NOT be a separate ceremony / celebration in June after Eid, as had previously been announced.
